Love happens, simply, like the moon through the window.

Subtle degrees of dominance and servitude are what you call love. But love is different: it happens in all its fullness, simply, like the moon through the window.” Rumi

Sometimes it takes us by surprise like a pack of seawater and salty sea spray; at other times it shakes and revives us, awakening a strength we had forgotten. Always, it reminds us of the beauty of our Self, a fullness hidden and protected until it is ready for revelation. It feels tender and stark, precious, so touching.

Ultimately, love responds to the ardent call of the eternal – a deep, powerful and passionate mystery.

On your quest, remember to trust your intuition and the very personal way it has to make itself heard in you; let it guide you towards your own truth, that which by its simplicity, its lightness and its intensity illuminates you.

Becoming more fully alive, breaking out of your shell, is a process accomplished only through answering the call of the profound, compelling, erotic and dynamic energy of spirit ; your Self begs you to take a step, to come forward, for it needs its counterweight in the body to embrace…Some kiss we want with our whole lives…

So on today’s Valentine, with love, here for you is some seawater and salty sea spray …

There is some kiss we want
with our whole lives
the touch of spirit on the body.

Seawater begs the pearl
to break its shell.

And the lily, how passionately
it needs some wild darling!

At night I open the window
and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine.

Breathe into me.
Close the language-door and
open the love-window.

The moon won’t use the door,
only the window.

Rumi, “Some kiss we want”, ecstatic Persian poet, 13th century.
